Universal Home Health & Hospice Supports Hardin County Safe Haven’s “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” Event10/9/2024 Universal Home Health & Hospice Care was proud to support and contribute to Hardin County Safe Haven’s annual “Walk a Mile In Her Shoes” event. This important community initiative raises awareness about domestic violence and sexual assault, and Universal was honored to stand alongside Safe Haven in their mission to support survivors and promote education. The event featured motivational music provided by Rise FM, adding an uplifting atmosphere to the day’s activities. Universal Home Health and Hospice is committed to making a positive impact in the communities it serves and supporting organizations like Safe Haven that provide critical resources to those in need. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Safe Haven and contributing to events that raise awareness and foster a safe, supportive environment for all. "We want to wish all of our local seniors with October birthdays a very Happy Birthday!" said a representative from Universal Home Health & Hospice. "It’s a joy to be able to contribute to such a wonderful celebration for the seniors in our community."
On September 27th, 2024, Universal Home Health and Hospice Care had the privilege of participating in the Hardin County Senior Expo as a silver sponsor. The event, hosted by Bridges Community Care and Hardin County United Way, was a fantastic opportunity to connect with seniors in the community and share valuable health tips. At our booth, our Director of Nursing assisted seniors with a hands-on demonstration of proper hand hygiene using our hand wash and sanitize station. This innovative setup allowed participants to see just how many germs can still linger on their hands, even after washing. It was an eye-opening experience that emphasized the importance of thorough handwashing and proper sanitization, especially for those in sensitive health conditions. We’re grateful for the opportunity to engage with the local senior community and promote healthier living. Be sure to check out some highlights from the event below! At Universal, we’re committed to providing not only exceptional home health and hospice care but also valuable education to help keep our community safe and healthy. Stay tuned for more updates and events!

Universal Home Health and Hospice LPN Cathy recently spent time doing free blood pressure checks at the Champaign County Senior Center. Staff members from Universal Home Health & Hospice Care recently participated in the Suicide Prevention Coalition 5K. It was a fun day supporting a great cause, and one of our physical therapists, Nick, won 1st place in the 5K run! The Universal Home Health & Hospice Care Team partnered with United Way and over 400 other volunteers for Logan County Community Care Day. The team from Universal specifically assisted in painting the gift shop for the Logan County Friendly Senior Center, with other staff helping with the "Stuff the Bus" items.
The volunteers included, from left to right: Sabra (Community Business Liaison), Melissa (Director of Nursing), Ellen, and Cindy (RNs), and Karen (Director of Hospice). Karla (Social Worker) was absent from the first picture but appears in the second one. Carol and Sue from the Friendly Senior Center were thrilled to have the staff paint their gift shop and were both very gracious throughout our time there, even ensuring that we had lunch. |
