Staff members from Universal Home Health & Hospice Care recently participated in the Suicide Prevention Coalition 5K. It was a fun day supporting a great cause, and one of our physical therapists, Nick, won 1st place in the 5K run! The Universal Home Health & Hospice Care Team partnered with United Way and over 400 other volunteers for Logan County Community Care Day. The team from Universal specifically assisted in painting the gift shop for the Logan County Friendly Senior Center, with other staff helping with the "Stuff the Bus" items.
The volunteers included, from left to right: Sabra (Community Business Liaison), Melissa (Director of Nursing), Ellen, and Cindy (RNs), and Karen (Director of Hospice). Karla (Social Worker) was absent from the first picture but appears in the second one. Carol and Sue from the Friendly Senior Center were thrilled to have the staff paint their gift shop and were both very gracious throughout our time there, even ensuring that we had lunch. Join us for a safe and supportive space to share your grief journey and connect with others who understand. For more information or to register, please call Universal at 937-593-1605
Facilitated by Karla Gingerich, LISW-S. Every Tuesday Starting August 27th - September 24th 6:00pm-7:30pm @ Universal Home Health & Hospice 921 Rush Avenue, Bellefontaine OH 43311 At Universal Home Health & Hospice, we cherish every opportunity to connect with our community, especially when it involves honoring those who have served our country. Recently, we had the privilege of attending the Logan County Veterans Luncheon, an event that left a profound impact on everyone involved.
One of the most touching aspects of the luncheon was the distribution of gift bags and handwritten letters. Over 50 individuals contributed personal messages to the veterans, expressing their gratitude and admiration. Many veterans shared that the letters, more than the gift bags, deeply touched their hearts. The thoughtfulness and time taken to write these messages meant the world to them, highlighting the power of simple, heartfelt gestures.
The experience at the Logan County Veterans Luncheon reinforced our commitment to honoring and supporting our veterans. Their bravery and sacrifices are the foundation of our freedoms, and it is our duty and privilege to show them the respect and appreciation they deserve. God bless our veterans! We are grateful for the chance to serve those who have served us, and we look forward to continuing to support and honor our heroes in every way we can. Community Outreach Spotlight: Universal's Partnership with United Way at the Honda Health Fair7/3/2024
Our involvement in the Honda Health Fair was multifaceted. Representing Universal, we had the dual role of showcasing our home health and hospice services while also highlighting the impactful work of Camp Braveheart. As many of you know, Camp Braveheart is a cherished initiative supported by funds from United Way, aimed at providing compassionate care and support to those in need.
The synergy between Universal and United Way is truly remarkable. United Way staff members, Becca and Derek, are not only exceptional community advocates but also invaluable business partners. Their dedication to improving community health and well-being aligns perfectly with Universal's mission. Through their efforts, we’ve been able to secure crucial funding for Camp Braveheart, ensuring that we can continue to offer essential services to our community. The Honda Health Fair provided a wonderful platform for us to engage with community members, share information about our services, and demonstrate the positive impact of United Way’s funding. Attendees were eager to learn about the resources available to them, and it was incredibly rewarding to see the community come together in support of health and wellness initiatives. Our partnership with United Way is a shining example of what can be achieved when organizations come together with a shared vision. We look forward to continuing this collaboration, reaching more individuals and families, and making a lasting difference in our community. At Universal, we believe in the power of community. Together with partners like United Way, we are committed to providing compassionate care and support to those who need it most. Thank you to everyone who made the Honda Health Fair a success, and we look forward to many more opportunities to serve our community. Stay tuned for more updates on our community outreach efforts and the incredible work being done at Camp Braveheart. Together, we are stronger, and together, we can make a difference! |
