On September 27th, 2024, Universal Home Health and Hospice Care had the privilege of participating in the Hardin County Senior Expo as a silver sponsor. The event, hosted by Bridges Community Care and Hardin County United Way, was a fantastic opportunity to connect with seniors in the community and share valuable health tips. At our booth, our Director of Nursing assisted seniors with a hands-on demonstration of proper hand hygiene using our hand wash and sanitize station. This innovative setup allowed participants to see just how many germs can still linger on their hands, even after washing. It was an eye-opening experience that emphasized the importance of thorough handwashing and proper sanitization, especially for those in sensitive health conditions. We’re grateful for the opportunity to engage with the local senior community and promote healthier living. Be sure to check out some highlights from the event below! At Universal, we’re committed to providing not only exceptional home health and hospice care but also valuable education to help keep our community safe and healthy. Stay tuned for more updates and events!
If you or a loved one is in need of home health or hospice care, don't hesitate to reach out to our compassionate team at Universal. We're here to help. The Universal Home Health & Hospice Care Team partnered with United Way and over 400 other volunteers for Logan County Community Care Day. The team from Universal specifically assisted in painting the gift shop for the Logan County Friendly Senior Center, with other staff helping with the "Stuff the Bus" items.
The volunteers included, from left to right: Sabra (Community Business Liaison), Melissa (Director of Nursing), Ellen, and Cindy (RNs), and Karen (Director of Hospice). Karla (Social Worker) was absent from the first picture but appears in the second one. Carol and Sue from the Friendly Senior Center were thrilled to have the staff paint their gift shop and were both very gracious throughout our time there, even ensuring that we had lunch. Community Outreach Spotlight: Universal's Partnership with United Way at the Honda Health Fair7/3/2024
Our involvement in the Honda Health Fair was multifaceted. Representing Universal, we had the dual role of showcasing our home health and hospice services while also highlighting the impactful work of Camp Braveheart. As many of you know, Camp Braveheart is a cherished initiative supported by funds from United Way, aimed at providing compassionate care and support to those in need.
The synergy between Universal and United Way is truly remarkable. United Way staff members, Becca and Derek, are not only exceptional community advocates but also invaluable business partners. Their dedication to improving community health and well-being aligns perfectly with Universal's mission. Through their efforts, we’ve been able to secure crucial funding for Camp Braveheart, ensuring that we can continue to offer essential services to our community. The Honda Health Fair provided a wonderful platform for us to engage with community members, share information about our services, and demonstrate the positive impact of United Way’s funding. Attendees were eager to learn about the resources available to them, and it was incredibly rewarding to see the community come together in support of health and wellness initiatives. Our partnership with United Way is a shining example of what can be achieved when organizations come together with a shared vision. We look forward to continuing this collaboration, reaching more individuals and families, and making a lasting difference in our community. At Universal, we believe in the power of community. Together with partners like United Way, we are committed to providing compassionate care and support to those who need it most. Thank you to everyone who made the Honda Health Fair a success, and we look forward to many more opportunities to serve our community. Stay tuned for more updates on our community outreach efforts and the incredible work being done at Camp Braveheart. Together, we are stronger, and together, we can make a difference! |
